My personal experience with the student success coaching service was very positive.  The Clifton Strengths assessment is a great tool for students like me to understand my individual talents and use them to progress in college and work.  After my personalised meeting with one of the student success coaches, I feel way more confident in my strengths and have a clearer idea of what I can do to use my talents to achieve my goals.  This is a big advantage not only in my academic career but also outside of university. The different skill workshops helped me to develop a better idea of constructive team work, and the Odyssey plan helped me - as a lost arts student - to get a clearer idea of what I want to do with my life after college.  The strengths assessment showed me what I'm capable of if I use my talents the right way. I can only recommend to any student to use this special opportunity while in college. The student success coaching service really enriched my college experience. There is something for everyone and you also learn important skills that employers are looking for, such as teamwork skills. I'm very thankful that our university offers these services.

My experience of working with and integrating the Design Your Life and Student Success Coaching into my Modern Irish Culture Studies courses has been extremely positive over the last 2 years. My students appreciate the opportunity to step outside of the formal learning context for a moment, and to step into a different way of thinking about their own learning, experiences and expectations during the time allotted to them in the workshops. The workshops provided my students with a little space in a busy schedule where they could think things through a little differently, learn from each other, recalibrate what they were doing and, more importantly, understand the 'why'...which should be the hallmark of what a supportive and enabling learning environment can and should be.
