Conferring Ceremonies for Adult Learners‌

NB: The next Adult Learning Conferring Ceremony will take place on Saturday 23rd November, 2024. The details below will be updated in October 2024. 

The Centre for Adult Learning & Professional Development Conferring Ceremonies will take place over two sessions on Saturday 25th November 2023 in the Bailey Allen Hall, Áras na Mac Léinn on the University of Galway campus.

This event will be live-streamed on the day, you can watch it on the video link here. A room will be also available on the day beside the main conferring hall for family & friends to view the ceremony if they wish – details to follow.

Outstanding Fees Deadline

The deadline for the payment of outstanding fees is Monday, November 6th, 2023. Please ensure any outstanding fees, penalties, library fines etc. are paid by deadline in order to be eligible to attend the Conferring. 

Parchment Name

Please ensure your name is correct for the issue of parchments (this includes accents, apostrophes, etc.). To ensure your name is correct you should check your Registration Statement and/or Transcript of Results to confirm

Change of Address

If you are unable to attend the ceremony in person, your parchment will be posted directly to you. Please update your information should you have a change of home address. This can be done via the Student Registry Helpdesk at Student Registry Helpdesk - University of Galway

Tickets

All graduands are entitled to 2 guest tickets onlyNo additional tickets can be assigned. Please contact your Course Administrator for additional information. General queries on the ceremonies can be directed to adultlearningconferring@universityofgalway.ie

Robes

All graduates must pre-book robes with the official robe-makers, Phelan Conan Limited before Midnight Sunday 19th November 2023. Robes may be pre-booked online at www.phelanconan.com. The pre-paid hire fee is €45 or Pay on the day hire fee is €50. Payment on the day can be made by scanning our QR code.

Due to the implementation of a personal 3D secure password during the credit card payment process on https://www.phelanconan.com. Phelan Conan Ltd staff are no longer able to take bookings over the phone. This has been created to protect your online payments and if you don’t already have a 3D secure password you can activate it by following the simple instructions during the booking process. Robes can be collected from 8am on the day of your graduation in room G001, Human Biology Building, University of Galway (beside the Bailey Allen Hall).

Cash will not be accepted. All gowns must be returned to Phelan Conan as soon as possible after the conclusion of the ceremony.

Should you require a copy of your parchment or an English version please contact the University of Galway directly here. University of Galway cannot provide duplicate parchments directly.
