Biography

After completing a PhD in statistics from Yale University in 2009, Dr. Ferguson worked at George Washington University and University of Limerick before taking up his current position at the University of Galway in 2015.   His research interests include decision theory, Empirical Bayes methods, record linkage, statistical genetics and statistical techniques in medicine and epidemiology.  Between 2017-2021, he was the holder of an HRB Emerging Investigator Award for work in population health.  He has authored over 80 publications, many of which as the primary author in leading statistics and epidemiology journals.
