The opening session of Rural Voices, the Discipline of Geography's Rural Studies Centre Seminar Series 2022, established in conjunction with the Department of Rural and Community Development (DRCD), will feature Dr Andrew Forde, who leads on the development and oversight of the implementation of Our Rural Future. This session will focus on the national rural development policy context, the relationship between rural development and Ireland’s economic and social recovery, and the critical importance of prioritising a sustainable rural development agenda against a backdrop of mega trends such as climate change.
