Dr Shane Conway speaks at EIP-AGRI Seminar on Digitising Agriculture and Rural Areas

A European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural productivity and Sustainability (EIP-AGRI) seminar entitled ‘Multi-level strategies for digitising agriculture and rural areas’ took place from the 12th to 13th of December 2018 in Antwerp, Belgium. The main purpose of this workshop was to highlight the importance of strategic planning to steer the digitisation of agriculture and rural areas, combining European, national, regional and local levels. Dr Shane Conway, Postdoctoral Researcher in the Discipline of Geography at NUI Galway and with the Irish National Rural Network (NRN), spoke at this event on the importance of implementing a multi-method communication approach to engage, inform and educate farmers and rural communities throughout EU member states of national and EU-wide digital initiatives and inspiring examples.
