Minister Kevin Boxer Moran announced that the OPW is funding a Coastal Erosion Risk Management Study for the Maharees, Co Kerry [costing €150,000]. This is the first major step in coming up with a fit-for-purpose solution to protect the Maharees from long term climate change impacts. Well done to Dr Eugene JC Farrell and Dr Kevin Lynch of the MSc Coastal and Marine Environments for their ongoing involvement and using their coastal research to support these rural coastal  communities.
