Congratulations to Dr Rose Ní Dhubhda and PhD supervisor Dr Brendan Mac Mahon, School of Education, NUI Galway, on the completion of Rose's thesis and successful viva defence. Rose's doctoral research applied design-based research to technology-enhanced learning in Irish language education.

Titled 'Students as Creators: The Impact of Digital Innovation on Irish-Language Learning', Rose's doctoral work exemplifies how digital innovation can impact positively on children’s language learning in Irish, in particular through design-based learning and the application of creative and constructionist technology.

Further, the TALES design model she developed in her PhD research provides a framework for educational designers and technologists to adopt and adapt similar, impactful innovations meaningfully within their respective contexts of learning.
