We have an extensive and diverse portfolio of undergraduate programmes in the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies that are taught by leading academic experts. Our courses range from the highly flexible BA(Joint-Honours) to our selection of more specialised degrees, called denominated degrees, but each course that we offer enables our students to shape their own degree.

Our courses have been developed in close consultation with major employers, indigenous and international, reflecting the increasing demand for highly skilled, innovative and flexible graduates. Our graduates have the ability to distil and critically assess information, to think innovatively and act independently. They demonstrate excellent analytical skills, precise communication skills, and can work effectively on their own initiative and in teams. In delivering excellence across our degrees, we have a student-centered ethos that provides a space for students to learn and develop both personally and professionally.

BA Joint Honours

This is a highly flexible programme, offering you a wide range of two-subject combinations to degree level. In addition to academic rigour, you will acquire transferable skills designed to make you career-ready and equipped for employment and further study in Ireland or abroad. Over the course of your degree, you will be able to pursue and develop your interests across a broad range of subjects. The BA(Joint-Honours) will help you become a disciplined and creative thinker, capable of expressing your thoughts coherently and persuasively.

Denominated BA Programmes

These are degree programmes, with individual CAO entry codes, which focus on particular areas of study. They are 4 years’ duration and provide students with the opportunity of studying abroad and/or gaining work placement experience.

Part-Time Programmes

You may choose to study part-time or by distance learning. The College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies also offers evening programmes leading to the degree of B.A. in a number of areas.
