Dr Doyle has actively engaged the media to increase the dissemination of his research and to raise the profile of the CMRC and UCC. For example, >50 articles have been written about his research in in local and national newspapers (inc. The Irish Times, The Examiner, The Sunday Tribune, BBC Wildlife Magazine) and he has made regular appearances on local and national radio (inc. Morning Ireland, The Mooney Show, Pat Kenny Show and Moncrieff). In addition to the print and radio media, Tom has featured in several wildlife documentaries, most notably a 45 minute programme entitled “Searching for Ireland’s giant sea turtles” which documented his attempt to satellite tag a leatherback sea turtle off Dingle. Tom has also featured in BBC’s Coast, RTE’s Wild Migrations and more recently he appeared in two episodes of Colin Stafford Johnson’s ‘Living the Wildlife’ TV Series (RTE). |
