Biography

Natasha Evers is a lecturer in the Marketing Discipline and Director of the Masters in Marketing by Research.  She holds  Ph.D  (International Marketing/Entrepreneurship) and M.Econ.Sc  (European Economics, Law, Business & Policy) Degrees from University College Dublin. The first year of her doctoral studies was spent in the Universitat De Barcelona, Spain and the University of Vaxjo, Sweden, in which she completed European Doctoral Programme in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management. She also holds a BA in French and German from National University of Ireland Maynooth. 
 

Dr. Natasha Evers holds a Visiting Professorship position in International Marketing and Entrepreneurship in the Innovation Sciences Group at the School of Business, Informatics & Engineering, University of Halmstad, Sweden.

Natasha is research active and publishes in the areas of:
-International entrepreneurship in SMEs across LMT sectors (low, med, high and services tech).
-International Marketing, Exporting & Logistics
- Entrepreneurship and Marketing of Innovation/scientific output in private and public research organisations in Life science and Marine Science sectors.

Natasha is lead co-author of textbook 'Technology Entrepreneurship - Bringing Innovation to the Marketplace', (2014), Natasha has published her work in internationally top ranked journals such as: Journal of International Marketing; International Marketing Review; Entrepreneurship and Regional Development; Journal of Small Business & Entrepreneurship; Journal of International Entrepreneurship; International Journal of Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management.

Natasha is research active in areas of international marketing and entrepreneuship; Marketing and Commercialisation of Innovation/scientific output in private and public research organisations in the Life science sectors.  She is also interested in Innovation Metrics of knowledge transfer activities within higher-level institutions and internationalisation of Innovation in SMEs.

Research Programme I (May 2013-2015):

Evaluation of Maritime transport for Irish Export Industry and Policy Recommendations. Funded by The Irish Marine Institute.
This is a two-tier research study, encompassing qualitative and quantitative methods, to evaluate the factors influencing exporters’ logistical decisions and strategies. The first tier of study is completed.


Research Programme II: Sharebiotech (INTERREG Fund Completion June 2013)

I am NUIG research partner of the European INTERREG funded ShareBiotech project with six other partner countries.  The main goal of this project is to strengthen the biotechnology sector and its collaboration with academia through facilitating access to technology core facilities for researchers and companies within the European Atlantic Area. The project started in 2010, by a consortium of 10 partners, including NUIG, from 4 Member States (France, Ireland, Portugal and Spain) and 7 regions. The survey findings have been collated and identify issues surrounding biotech SMEs in partner counties. In particular many research outputs are planned to emerge in relation to findings from this study, an example being identifying the barriers and requirements to biotech SMEs.
Completed two nationally and locally funded projects investigating the strategic planning, Marketing and Commercialisation of Innovation /scientific output in private and public research organisations in Ireland and in the US. Details are as follows:


Research Programme III - Irish Research Council for Humanities & Social Sciences (IRCHSS) (Ended Feb. 2011):
Preliminary investigation into the feasibility of Benchmarking TTO performance and Metrics in Knowledge transfer Activities. Completed funded project exploring Innovation Metrics of knowledge transfer activities within higher-level institutions.
