Mr Patrick Hayes B.Eng
Patrick Hayes joined NUI Galway in 2012 as a member of the research team for the Northern Periphery project, Implementing Transnational Telemedicine Solutions (ITTS) and the FP7 project Wireless Insole for Independent & Safe Elderly Living (WIISEL).
Patrick holds a Masters Degree in Health Science, a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently pursing a postgraduate diploma in software engineering.
Interests include the utilisation of technologies to influence, improve and support lifestyles and independent self management of personal healthcare. Patrick has worked as a project manager/technological lead on ITTS, completed a randomised controlled trial using smartphones to increase daily exercise and has been involved in health research studies in Ireland. In his role as research development worker, Patrick is responsible for identifying and implementing the required technological equipment that will be used to deliver the demonstrator projects in Ireland. For WIISEL his role will include the recruitment of participants while providing technoloigal support throughout the clinical validation of the insole.
