Biography

Dr Máire Aine Ní Mhainnín is a Lecturer in French at NUI Galway since 1998 where she obtained a PhD in 1999 for a thesis on Jean Sulivan; De l'Individuel à l'Universel, une étude de l'œuvre sulivanienne. Máire Áine also has a Diploma in Professional Education Studies from NUI Galway. She has previously lectured at NUI Maynooth and l’Université de Bordeaux 3.   Máire Áine has been the recipient of scholarships, fellowships and awards from the IRC, IRCHSS and the Fondation Irlandaise. She has also been awarded the Prix du Québec for her research on Québécois literature. Her research interests also include Translation Studies (especially translation memory tools); language teaching methodologies and contemporary French Literature.   Dr Máire Aine Ní Mhainnín is Course Director for all years of the Legal French programme and coordinator of the year abroad. She is Course director for the Evening Diplomas in French (3 programmes) and the Evening BA Degree programme in French (CPD). At graduate level, she is co-director of the MA in Advanced Language Skills. As well as supervising PhD students (two currently), she also lectures to all years on the BA Programme in French, from First years to Final Years.
