Dr. Kieran Walsh is Project Director of Project Lifecourse and Acting Director of the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology, at the Institute for Lifecourse and Society in NUI Galway. Kieran’s work concentrates on key life course societal issues such as social exclusion, independent living, infrastructures of care, structural inequalities and the role of place and community in mediating and protecting against disadvantage across the life course. Kieran has over 15 years’ experience in designing, coordinating and conducting applied social science research in interdisciplinary environments and working across multi-site and cross-national research projects. Keith Egan

Dr. Keith Egan is a Research Fellow on Project Lifecourse. His background is in anthropology and his work has focused on religion and identity in Ireland and Europe, social medicine and medical training, and social economic theories of debt and recovery. He has a further three years’ experience in researching well-being and resilience and service provision for children and people with intellectual disabilities.

Dr. Christine Fitzgerald is a Research Assistant on the 3 cities Project with Project Lifecourse,  Christine is in the final stages of a PhD in NUI Galway with the Irish centre for Social Gerontology and the Discipline of Marketing, which investigates behaviour change surrounding the Meals on Wheels service using community research approach.  With a background in health care; completing a BSc in Nursing and an MA in Health Promotion, her research interests include community research, lifecourse development and health behaviour.

Shauna Diamond

Shauna Diamond is  a Research Assistant with the 3 cities project with Project Lifecourse.  Shauna's key interests relate to holistic health perspectives; underpinned by her BSc in Health Promotion and Public Health and her MA in Community Development.  She has experience in a variety of community roles, working with children and youth as well as older people,  The area of Travellers Rights is of particular interest for Shauna, where she has researched the use of a participatory model in engaging Travellers.

Alexandra Revez

Alexandra is a human geographer with a keen interest in interdisciplinary research and methodologies.  Alexandra's research work focuses on community development, vulnerability and environmental management.  During her PhD Alexandra explored many of these issues through a multiple case study examination of flooding events.  This research looked specifically at local capacities to address flooding impacts in the context of rural and urban communities in Ireland.  This included a critical review of state led risk based approaches and contributions to debates around environmental justice.  Alexandra is a member od ANDROID Disaster Resilience Network.  This EU funded Erasmus project looks to enhance academic capacity to address disaster events in Europe.  Alexandra has co-organised and delivered the ANDROID Doctoral School Programme, which has been rolled out for three years.  Other ANDROID team activities entailed a European wide survey examining interdiscipilarity in academia in Disaster Research across Europe.

Sandra Hallinan

Sandra joined the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology as Administrative Assistant in April 2012.  She has worked in support services at N.U.I., Galway for a number of years and has extensive administration experience in a number of areas including the Admissions Office, Engineering Faculty and Disability Support - Student Services.   Sandra has specific responsibility for the administration of Project Lifecourse at the Institute for Lifecourse & Society.
