Junior Cert Awards
Junior Cert Business Studies Awards 2019
NUI Galway Junior Certificate Business Studies Awards Ceremony 2019
We are delighted to inform you that the Junior Certificate Business Studies Awards Ceremony will take place on:
Wednesday, 20th November at 7.30 pm in the Bailey Allen Hall, NUI Galway
(Registration from 7 pm. Guests to be seated by 7.15 pm)
The award ceremony recognises students on their outstanding academic achievements.
Update to criteria for receipt of award and attendance: Due to the new marking scheme introduced this year for Junior Certificate Business, we have revised the criteria to be eligible to receive this award. Students in Connaught who achieved the Distinction Grade in Junior Certificate Business Studies paper will be eligible to receive this award and attend this event.
Only 1.8% of students nationwide achieved this outstanding result. The former ‘A’ grade would traditionally have been achieved by between 8% and 10% of students. Therefore the number of students expected to receive the award this year is greatly reduced. For that reason, we encourage students to also invite their family members and friends to attend the ceremony also. There will be no restriction in the number of guests that are allowed to attend per student.
The deadline for registration is Wednesday, 13th November 2019 so please ensure that you are registered before then. Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
We look forward to seeing you all on November 20th and thank you for your continued support for this event.
