Anglican Chorale of Ottawa (ACO), August 2012

"Our 47-member choir thoroughly enjoyed our 5-day stay at Corrib village. The administration before and during our stay was excellent - responsive, supportive, and true to their word.  The residence space is top tier.  Comfortable, clean, quiet rooms, and the shared kitchen/living room space was great to have amongst every four apartments.  We also enjoyed the "quad" area in-front of the building - a place for the group to stay in touch.  The extras that we asked for - rehearsal space, a group dinner at the Campus Pub, a group dinner upon arrival - were taken care of perfectly. Who knew Ireland should be known for their cuisine? We also loved the university campus, Galway, and the surrounding area.  Any group should have no reservations about staying at Corrib Village."

MSC Galway Conference, July 2012

"In the summer of 2012 a conference was held in Galway on the topic of stem cell technology. It brought together an international grouping of experts from 5 continents to discuss recent research in stem cell therapy and the development of new treatments for patients. The venue was the Bailey Allen Conference Centre at NUI Galway and management of the conference was in the hands of the NUI Galway Conference and Catering Office, led by Patricia Walsh and assisted by Olivia McBride and Rory O’Toole.

I have to say that the success of the conference was due in no small part to the excellent environment provided at NUI Galway. The conference facilities were superb. Every aspect of the venue – registration desk, seating, audiovisual services, speaker-ready room - was professional, polished and well managed. It turned out to be a truly excellent location.

Catering, which included coffee breaks and hot lunches, was seamlessly organized and on time and the food was excellent. The conference banquet, held in the Aula Maxima, was very special, with a superb four-course dinner provided by Masterchef and a memorable night of music with Frankie Gavin and Friends.

Conference management was efficient, proactive and professional. It was clear that the office has a great deal of experience in event management and in the organization of large venues.

The jewel in the crown, for this international conference venue, was the city of Galway. Visiting Galway and the west of Ireland was a magical experience for all the overseas delegates. They enjoyed the music, the nightlife, the wonderful ambience of Galway, and of course the events associated with the Volvo Ocean Race Finale. I have received letters from delegates from all corners of the planet, NUI Galway as a conference venue and Galway City as an incomparable destination."

Peace Proms, February 2012

"The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland held “ Peace Proms 2012” in NUI Galway on the 4th and 5th February 2012. “Peace Proms” is a monumental choral and orchestral production involving a choir of 450 children and a 110 member orchestra along with soloists, and Drum and Piping Corps . The venue comfortably catered for a capacity audience along with the full complement of musicians.
