Class of 1962 50-Year Reunion
NUI Galway, Saturday April 21st, 2012The Class of 1962 50-Year Reunion Celebration will take place in Galway on Saturday 21st of April, 2012.
The programme will include a reception in the Quadrangle, featuring a photo exhibition from the early sixties, this will be followed by a guided tour of the campus. Later that evening there will be a Reunion Dinner in the Meyrick Hotel, Eyre Square (formerly The Great Southern).

Seanad Éireann Candidates' Debate
The Davenport Hotel, Dublin was the venue on Tuesday 12th April, for a lively debate between Rónán Mullen and Donncha O'Connell, the two NUI Galway alumni senate candidates.
Moderator for the night was Harry McGee of The Irish Times and the event was MC'd by Cillian Fennell.
Defence Forces Officers’ Dinner with new Chief of Staff
Almost 100 alumni, including many serving or retired Defence Forces officers, celebrated the recent appointment of fellow graduate Seán McCann, BComm 1974, to the Chief of Staff of the Forces at a very special dinner in the Officers’ Mess, McKee Barracks, Dublin.

Tour of TG4
20 alumni and friends were taken on an exciting behind the scenes tour of the TG4 studios in Baile na hAbhann. Programme Editor Tomás Ó Síocháin, BCorpLaw 1996, HDipAppComms 1997 and LLB 2004, guided the groups both in English and in Irish demonstrating where and how some of the various TG4 programmes are produced.
Business Information Systems Reunion
The first BSc BIS alumni gathering took place in Dublin on the 10th of March 2001. The programme first graduated students in 2006 and there are now over 100 NUI Galway BSc BIS graduates. The evening included a conversation with Karl Flannery, BSc 1982, Entrepreneur and CEO of Storm Technology.
New England Alumni Club presents...A Night at the Theater
On a very snowy February evening in Boston, 70 alumni and friends of NUI Galway attended a cocktail party sponsored by the Galway University Foundation before attending a performance of Druid Theatre Company's "Cripple of Inishmaan" performed at Boston’s Paramount Center at Emerson College.

The Irish Embassy in Madrid and the Spanish Irish Business Network are pleased to announce that Pan Alumni networking events will take place simultaneously this year on 19th January in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Marbella and Valencia. All events will kick off at 20.30.
Graduates of all Irish universities are invited to get together to meet like-minded people and bring along friends who also have an affinity for Ireland. The profile will be mixed: people who have lived in Spain for years and are very settled, as well as newer arrivals and also others temporarily passing through, with everyone paying for their own food and drink.

Engineering Building Tour
NUI Galway, Saturday, March 3rd, 2012A tour of NUI Galway's new Engineering Building will place on Saturday 3rd of March at 11am and is open to all alumni and friends. The building is one of the most advanced in the world and has been designed to be a teaching tool in itself, with exposed construction techniques and an array of ecological building methods.

The 2013 NUI Galway Alumni Awards will be presented at the annual Alumni Awards Gala Banquet on Saturday, 9 March, 2013. The Gala Banquet will again be held in the Bailey Allen Wing located in Áras na Mac Léinn on campus.
The Alumni Awards recognise individual excellence and achievements among the University’s more than 70,000 graduates worldwide.
The Awards programme boasts an impressive roll call of 74 outstanding graduates who have gone on to honour their alma mater, including, for example, Michael D. Higgins, Ciarán FitzGerald, Sean O’Rourke, Professor Frank Gannon, Dr Luke Clancy and Gráinne Seoige.
